Madiston plc was founded by Tim Simon, to provide software and related IT services, particularly to companies in the financial services sector, and to assist in developing IT strategy and solutions for such companies.
Whilst Tim’s career in financial sector technology spans some three decades, there is no doubt that right now the whole of the financial services sector is in turmoil with particular challenges facing the banking sector. The banking system itself is under tremendous scrutiny with change, at last, being forced upon it.
What will happen to the IT investment cycle is anybody's guess. Some suggest that IT budgets are so restricted that spending will slow or stop altogether. Others take the opposite view, arguing that the ancient and outdated systems prevalent in this sector must now be addressed. Madiston has been saying for years that existing banking systems, particularly the risk management and asset/liability systems, are woefully lacking! Unfortunately, the failings in the systems have been so clearly and catastrophically demonstrated over the last few years.
IT professionals are currently grappling with the limitations of their existing systems. They have the onerous task of complying with ever-increasing regulation, legislation, security issues and management demands for fast, low-cost, transaction processing and risk management systems, with the reality of outdated technology. Tim Simon and Brian Scott-Quinn, directors of Madiston plc, have played key roles in advising organisations, regulators and government on these challenges.
Madiston for Web-based Marketplaces
For years Madiston has applied its wealth of experience in advising organisations, designing, building, deploying, hosting and running systems. Madiston has used this expertise to develop and build web-based marketplaces to be managed and developed in-house, as well as being licensed to other technology providers as a platform upon which their own online marketplaces can be built. |
